Guardian of the Sacred TemazcalIn a natural reserve close to where we will be staying,

Lorena watches over a sacred temazcal (sweat lodge) that she personally “planted” on land entrusted to her care. Together with her husband, she lovingly tends to this peaceful space surrounded by lush forest.The temazcal represents both the womb of the Earth and the womb of the mother. It is entered through a ritual guided by sacred songs, rising heat, and distinct “doors” (stages) that mark the arrival of the hot volcanic stones. Inside, participants are invited to surrender, sweat, and gently return to the present moment. Symbolically, the experience is a journey between death and rebirth: entering the Earth, transforming through the heat, and emerging renewed like a newborn, a passage closed by a final exit ritual.Initiated by a traditional woman of wisdom, Lorena guides this powerful process with immense gentleness, deep humility, and a keen sensitivity to the subtle world. She also holds a close connection with sacred tobacco, and a dedicated time for sharing this medicine may be offered.In the simplicity of her space and her grounding presence, Lorena will invite us to experience fire, earth, water, heat, and silence in a completely new way.
