These retreats are intimate journeys held in nature, with small groups and time to rest, observe, feel and simply be. Rather than filling the days with activities, we intentionally leave space around the ceremonies — space for silence, conversation, walking, nourishment, contemplation and whatever may need to unfold.

At the heart of the retreat are plant medicine ceremonies held with care, presence and respect. We approach this work without seeking intensity or extraordinary experiences. Every journey is different. Sometimes something profound moves. Sometimes the experience is quiet. Sometimes it brings clarity, discomfort, tenderness, resistance, joy, grief or simply rest.

There is no particular experience to achieve.

Our role is to create the conditions in which each person can meet their own experience as safely and honestly as possible.

A small and human space

Casa Oraya deliberately works with small groups.

For us, intimacy matters. It allows us to know the people who are travelling with us, to remain attentive to individual needs and to preserve a sense of home rather than creating the atmosphere of a large retreat centre.

We share meals, sit together, walk, speak when words are needed and respect silence when they are not.

The retreat is not only what happens during ceremony. Very often, something important happens in the spaces between.

Preparation, ceremony and integration

We consider preparation and integration to be part of the journey itself.

Before joining us, every participant has an individual conversation with us. This gives us the opportunity to learn about your personal situation, intentions, previous experiences, physical and emotional health, medications and anything else that may be important for us to know.

Preparation also begins before arrival, through practical guidance and a period of simplifying food, habits and daily rhythm.

During the retreat, we gently invite participants to notice not only visions or stories, but also the body: sensations, emotions, memories, movements, resistance, images, dreams and the quieter elements that can easily be overlooked.

After ceremony, there is time to come back slowly.

Integration circles and individual support help give language and context to what has been experienced, without imposing an interpretation upon it. We believe that meaning often reveals itself gradually, sometimes long after the ceremony has ended.

Our relationship with the medicine

We approach plant medicine with humility.

We do not believe that drinking medicine automatically makes someone wiser, healed or spiritually evolved. Medicine can open a door, illuminate something, disturb something or invite us to look differently at our lives.

What we do with that experience afterwards remains deeply personal.

For this reason, Casa Oraya does not cultivate the image of a guru, a spiritual authority or someone who holds the answers for another person.

We accompany.

We observe.

We listen.

And when guidance is needed, we offer it with the understanding that each person’s path remains their own.

A retreat rooted in everyday life

Ultimately, the intention of these retreats is not to escape ordinary life.

It is to return to it differently.

Perhaps with a little more clarity.

A little more tenderness toward ourselves.

A greater capacity to listen.

A renewed relationship with the body, with nature, with others, or with what truly matters.

There is no promise of transformation here.

Only an invitation to create the conditions in which something true may be heard.

To come slowly.

To meet what is already here.

And, little by little, to inhabit life more fully.
